TankPe (“the App”) is a local-first fuel and mileage tracking application developed by Malkari Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use TankPe.
TankPe is designed with a privacy-first approach. Your fuel logs and vehicle data are stored locally on your device and are not required to be uploaded to any cloud service.
By using TankPe, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
TankPe allows you to enter and store:
Vehicle details (name, type, fuel type)
Odometer readings
Fuel volume, amount, rate
Fuel station name
Personal/business tags
Full-tank indicators
Notes related to entries
This data is stored locally on your device using SQLite and is not automatically transmitted to our servers.
2.2 Camera & Image Access (OCR Feature)
TankPe may request access to:
Camera
Photo gallery/storage
These permissions are used only when you choose to use the OCR (text recognition) feature to capture fuel receipt or meter details.
Images are processed locally using Google ML Kit Text Recognition.
Images are not uploaded to our servers.
We do not store images unless you explicitly choose to do so.
2.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)
TankPe uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display non-intrusive banner advertisements.
AdMob may collect:
Device identifiers
Advertising ID
IP address
Basic device and usage data
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policies.

4. Data Storage
All fuel logs and vehicle information are stored locally on your device.
No account creation is required.
No mandatory cloud sync is implemented.
Users can export and import backups manually.
You are responsible for maintaining backups if you uninstall the app or change devices.
5. Data Sharing
TankPe does not share your personal vehicle logs with the developer or third parties.
However, third-party services used in the app may collect limited data:
Google AdMob (Advertising)
Google ML Kit (On-device text recognition library)
We do not control how third-party SDK providers process data. Please refer to their respective privacy policies.
6. Permissions Used
TankPe may request the following permissions:
Camera – For OCR receipt scanning
Storage / Media Access – For selecting images and exporting backups
Internet – For loading advertisements
Permissions are only used for the features described above.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect user data. Since all primary data is stored locally on your device, security depends partly on your device’s protection (PIN, password, biometric lock).

Delete individual logs
Soft delete with undo
Export your data
Fully remove data by uninstalling the app
Reset advertising preferences in device settings
